Professor Lee's Visit from Bitatin Company Regarding the Global Registration of Estahban Figs with FAO
The Public Cultural Council of Estahban district announced on 1402/2/11, in accordance with the plans and coordination that had been made, the presence of Professor Lee[1] for the registration of rain-fed dried figs as the fourth globally important agricultural heritage (GIAHS) in Iran. On 1403/3/7, Professor Lee and his accompanying delegation visited the rain-fed dried fig orchards in Estahban, as well as the Bitatin Company in Estahban.
Bitatin Estahban Company proudly hosted Professor Lee and his accompanying delegation at the factory. Mr. Abbas Rezazadeh[2], in his introduction of export-grade figs, offered an in-depth explanation on packaging methods used, and provided analytical reports regarding the techniques of exporting. The unique fig farming system in Estahban has continued from the past to the present and has now reached global registration through thoughtful measures.
This great initiative is the beginning of cultivation, development, and sale of this product in order to adhere to the highest possible global standards.
